Cowboy Mounted Shooters 4:00 PM Friday September 4 at Hooper Rodeo Arena 6:30 PM Monday September 7 at Hooper Rodeo Arena Come join us for an amazing show! Contestants compete in this fast action timed event on horseback, using two .45 caliber single action revolvers each loaded with five rounds of specially prepared ammunition. The cowboy or cowgirl deftly maneuver his/her steed through a course of 10 balloons while attempting to hit each target and pop the balloons. It's going to be a fun day at a pretty arena with shade, trees, grass, and a playground. Concessions will be available! Please make sure to read all the rules and sign the attached waiver. Hooper City's Sewer Department is committed to protecting public health and the environment. Learn about proper disposal practices and what not to flush to keep our sewer system running smoothly. Hooper City Sewer Service Hooper City sewers and collection systems are carefully monitored and continually upgraded to ensure that the health of its residents and their environment are protected. SEWER EMERGENCY INFORMATION: If you are experiencing a sewer-related issue (or think there may be an issue with your sewer connection) please contact the city office or if after hours, call the non-emergency dispatch phone number (801-396-8221) We would be happy to assist you in determining the problem. If you believe you have a clogged lateral or call a plumber or rooter service to clean or unclog your sewer lateral, IT IS IMPORTANT to contact the sewer department before utilizing those services. We are happy to work with your contractor to resolve the problem, but need to make sure it does not cause additional issues downstream. We have had problems where homeowners that have clogs in their portion of the system, hire plumbers or rooter companies and move the problem out to the city portion of the system that can cause equipment damage and or other residents to have a sewer backup that they may be liable for. The city offers this as a service to the residents and does not typically charge for their services. What Not to Flush: We would like to remind the community that not everything can be put into the sewer system. Please Do Not Flush The Following: - Baby Wipes - Cleaning Wipes - Feminine Products - Cotton Balls - Q-Tips - Paper Towels - Sponges - Large Amounts of Grains - Grease - Fats - Oils - Fibrous Materials - Paint - Wood - Household Trash "Just because a product says it is flushable, that doesn't mean it is pumpable." Whether you’re racing for a personal best or enjoying a leisurely jog with neighbors, this tomato-themed 5K puts community spirit front and center. Kids run free! Packet pick-up will be Friday, September 4th from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM at the Hooper Park and September 5th starting at 7:00 AM to 8:00 AM at the Hooper Park. It will also require strict attention to the detailed checklist provided with each application. Participate in Wreaths Across America We look forward to our first annual Wreaths Across America event in Hooper. A brief ceremony and wreath laying event will be held on Dec 13, 2025, at 10:00 am. More details will be forthcoming in the weeks ahead. For those unfamiliar with this nonprofit, their goal is to remember and honor those who have selflessly served our nation in the armed forces and teach the next generation of their service and sacrifice by placing a beautiful wreath on each grave. We will join millions of fellow Americans on that day honoring our veterans in the Hooper cemetery. In order to sponsor a wreath, please go to wreathsacrossamerica.org/uthocc and simply choose the number of wreaths to sponsor. We have approx. 450 veterans in our cemetery and the last day to sponsor a wreath is November 28, 2025. Make an Online Account Submit Permit Plans Check Setbacks and Dimensional Standards Building Division: Building permits are required to ensure public safety, health, and welfare as they are affected by building construction, through structural strength, adequate egress facilities, sanitary equipment, light, ventilation, and fire safety. Building Permits are REQUIRED but not limited to the following situations: - Converting any unfinished space in a dwelling to livable finished space. - Addition or modification of any plumbing, water, or gas line. - Any electrical work other than replacement of existing light fixtures, switches, and outlets. - Replacement or modification of heating and air conditioning system including equipment and ductwork. - Modifying any existing structural framing. - Addition to an existing structure including living space, patio cover, deck, etc. - Construction of any detached accessory building larger than 200 square feet or over 1 story in height regardless of construction type. (Structures less than 200 square feet require site plan approval) - Replacing a roof covering. (Required where the existing roof has 2 or more layers of any type of roof covering) **This is not a complete list of required permits.
