Come join us for a Tomato Days tradition everyone loves — the parade! With candy flying, horses clip-clopping, tractors rumbling, and music filling the air, it’s a celebration of Hooper’s roots and community spirit. Don’t forget your lawn chairs and candy bags!​

Parade Entry Information

Check-in and line-up: Starts at 7:00 AM Please check in at the Hooper Civic Center: 5580 West 4600 South. All entries must be checked in by 8:00 AM

  • Each entry will receive two laminated numbers which you need to attach to each side of your entry. Please bring your own supplies for attaching the numbers (i.e. tape, safety pins, magnets).

  • Equestrian Units--after receiving your parade number, you will be directed to line up on 5100 South, starting at the southwest corner of 5100 South and 5900 West and lining up west from there. There will be two areas for parking horse trailers--one in the field on the west of 5900 West (volunteers will direct you) and the other one south of Hooper Park at contestant parking for parents who are needing to pick up their children who are riding horses in the parade.

  • All other parade entries (non-equestrian)--after checking in, you will head west on 4600 South where volunteers will direct you where to line-up along 5900 West.

Parade Start Time: 9:00 AM

 

Parade Route:  Parade starts at the intersection of 5100 South and 5900 West. Parade travels south along 5900 West to the corner of 5500 South. From there it turns west and travels along 5500 South until the end of the parade at 6300 West. 

 

End of the Parade Instructions: Equestrian units will be directed south along 6300 West and all other entries will be directed north along 6300 West. Parents and others who are needing to pick up parade participants (non-equestrian) can plan to pick them up near the Hooper City Cemetery at 5290 South 6300 West.

Other Information:

  • Please remember to include a brief description of your entry on the entry form for the parade announcers to read. They only have time to read a few sentences before they need to read the description for the next entry, so please keep your description brief. We reserve the right to edit entry descriptions for length.

  • Candy, small toys, advertising merchandise, etc. is allowed and ENCOURAGED to be thrown safely to the audience.
