Categories for the Jr. Rodeo Contest are as follows: 

Age 13 - 15 Years | Jr. Rodeo Queen and First Runner Up

Age 9 - 12 Years | 1st Princess and First Runner Up

Age 5 - 8 Years | Jr. Princess and First Runner Up

4:00 PM - 5:30 PM Saturday August 30 at the Cultural Hall (White Building South of Hooper Park)

General Rules: 

  1. Entries accepted Saturday, August 31, 2024 from 4:00 PM - 5:30 PM at the Cultural Hall

  2. Judging will take place at 5:30 PM Saturday

  3. All exhibits must be completed within the last year & be the exhibitor's work.

  4. Only 1 entry per category will be judged, and ribbons must stay with exhibit.

  5. Additional entries will be for display only and will not be judged.

  6. Exhibits must stay until Monday and can be picked up between 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM.Payment for ribbons will be paid at that time. Any items not picked up can be picked up at the Hooper City Office Monday - Thursday 9:00 - 5:00 PM

  7. Entries will be judged according to workmanship.

Floricultural

  • All flowers accepted, flowers to be judged on balance, scale, color, selection, condition, and presentation.

Canned Goods​ (1 jar per class any size or variety)

  • Fruits

  • Jam or Jellies

  • Pickles and Relishes

Baked Goods

  • Breads (1 loaf any variety)

  • Cakes (un-iced)

  • Cakes (decorated)

At least 6 of the following per entry

  • Muffins

  • Biscuits

  • Cookies or Candy

Produce Specific Rules: 

  1. Entries must be grown by the exhibitor.

  2. All produce should be firm, market maturity, clean, fresh and exhibited in an attractive way.  Should be free from soil, fibrous roots and tops removed.

  3. "Largest Specimen" entry can not be used in other classes.

  4. Only one entry per category per exhibitor

  5. Pickup and payment for ribbons will be on Monday from 3:00 - 4:00 PM.  Produce left after that hour will be discarded.
